News ReleaseWinter 2007 Diamond Drilling Program Completed at Louise Lake Project, North American Gem Inc.March 28, 2007: North American Gem Inc. (TSX-V symbol: NAG) is pleased to announce the completion of the winter, 2007 diamond drilling program at the Louise Lake copper-molybdenum-gold-silver project near Smithers, British Columbia, Canada. The road-accessible property is located 35 kilometres west of Smithers, a full-service community with excellent access to highway, rail and electrical power infrastructure.
A total of 21 holes for 6,277.6 metres (20,597 feet) of NQ-sized core were drilled. The drill program consisted largely of "step-out" holes focusing on identifying extensions of the "Main Zone", a tabular, east-west striking, moderately north dipping porphyry-style copper-molybdenum-gold-silver deposit. The program also included seven "interior" holes, focusing on upgrading of the deposit towards the "Indicated" resource category. The Main Zone hosts an unusual mineral assemblage, with copper occurring as an equal mixture of enargite and chalcopyrite. The 2004 through 2006 programs extended the known dimensions of the east-west striking, moderately north-dipping tabular Main Zone both to the west and east, as well as down-dip to the north. By 2006, the Main Zone was known to be at least 970 metres long, up to 170 metres wide, and extending to a depth of 250 - 270 metres, where it is abruptly truncated by the flat-lying "Terminator" fault. In 2006 SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. completed the first NI 43-101-verifiable resource estimate on the Main Zone, with the following results: Table 1: - SRK classified mineral resources for the Louise Lake deposit.
Much of the core has not yet been logged in detail; results are pending. No estimates of grade are being attempted until results have been adequately compiled. The 2007 program has established a sizable northward extension of the Main Zone of at least 160 metres. Hole LL-07-14, a further step-out hole roughly 70 metres northwest of DDH LL-07-06 and LL-07-06A (NAG News Release dated March 12, 2007) also intersected Main Zone-style mineralization, including molybdenite, suggesting the zone flattens at depth, rather than being truncated at a moderate angle by the "Terminator" as previously believed. Hole LL-07-15, targeting further extension of this zone, failed to intersect Main Zone-style mineralization, although some molybdenite veining was intersected at depth. Hole LL-07-17, targeting this northward extension roughly 300 metres east of Hole LL-07-06, also intersected Main Zone-style mineralization at depth. A second hole, DDH LL-07-18B, was drilled from the same site at the same azimuth but at a steeper dip, also intersected this zone, indicating further northward extension. This portion of the zone remains open to the north. Hole LL-07-13, targeting the "Induced Polarization" geophysical anomaly near Louise Lake, failed to intersect Main Zone-style mineralization, although minor lead-zinc veining, including a 20-centimetre massive sulphide vein, was intersected. The underlying portion of the Main Zone remains undetected. This News Release was reviewed and approved by Carl Schulze, BSc, PGeo, Qualified Person for the project, in accordance with regulations under National Instrument 43-101. All sample analysis is being completed by ALS Chemex of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The diamond drilling program was conducted by Britton Brothers Diamond Drilling of Smithers, British Columbia. About North American Gem Inc. North American Gem Inc.
